Graduation Presents : MAC and Urban Decay

Hi everyone!!!!

I am really excited about this post. I have recently graduated from uni and because I did quite well I got spoiled rotten :-) My lovely hubby Joe knows me sooo well so he took me make up shopping and I got LOADS of stuff!!!

Here is a cheesy picture of the two of us:

The biggest thing I got is the Urban Decay 15 year anniversary eyeshadow collection. I was sooo excited about this palette because I LOVE my UD Naked palette so was very keen on getting another one. And OH MY DAYS!!! This one is sooo beautiful and sooo worth it. It is quite pricey (£39) but you get 15!!!! eyeshadows which is great. Enough talking, this palette speaks for itself!

I love the fact it comes with such amazing bright colours that are still perfectly wearable. The pigmentation is great as always (apart from the evidence, I had to swatch it a few times to get the colour on the pic) and they last all day, especially when worn with Urban Decay Primer Potion. They are really hard to get hold of though. So get yours quick!!! :-)

And now onto MAC! Here are the things he treated me to! What a hero! :-)

First up is the pressed blot powder. I love this sooo much and ALWAYS have it in my handbag! It gets rid of oiliness without making your skin look cakey. This is due to its sheer coverage. So if you like to use your powder for extra coverage this product isn't for you :-) Mine is in colour medium/dark.

The second thing I got is a matte bronzer. This is actually called blusher and it's in colour Harmony. And I love this soo much. Mainly because it's not orangey like most bronzers so it's perfect for contouring. This is suitable for fair skin tones too so it's GREAT!

I also got 2 MAC paints. One paint pot and one paint. I got the paint after watching Kim Kardashian's MUA using it for her smokey eyes and it just looked stunning! And it is sooo affordable too. I got the same colour as Kim uses and that's Bare Canvas. The Paint Pot I have is in colour Painterly, really nice skin toned matte colour. Both Paints are AMAZING and never crease. They can be used as a base or as a shadow on its own. I must say I prefer the consistency of paints but packaging of pots.

Left - Bare Canvas, Right - Painterly

Joe also got me the new shadestick from the Mac me over collection in colour Street Cool. The colour is delicious purple taupey colour. However as much as I love the colour I am not a big fan of the product. It creases like crazy and it tuggs when applied. The main reason I got this is for when I am in the hurry so I can just quickly put it on without using any brushes or other colours. However because of tugging it takes ages to put it on. Not a big fan! This is a first MAC product that I bought and don't really like.

Last but not least is the eyebrow pencil in colour Spiked. This is brilliant! I have been obsessed with eyebrows for the past few weeks but can't get mine perfect so hopefully this will help :-)

I cannot describe how happy I am with my graduation presents and the fact I finished uni. I now have a graduate job so will be buying loads more high end make up. This doesn't mean I will neglect good old drugstores. Because, trust me, some stuff  is better than high end, eg  Sleek Blushes (post on them coming up soon!)

10 for £10!!!

Hello beauty addicts!

So I have been shopping AGAIN! Should really consider counselling! :-D But this time as the title suggest I didn't spend too much, yet I got LOADS! I thought I would have a look at the make up section in Poundland! Haha! Not the usual place I go to! But when I got in, I was actually amazed! I know that they do lots of Rimmel stuff but I found some Revlon too and I LOVE the stuff I got! PS I usually put prices next to the pictures but for obvious reasons, I won't do it this time! :-)

My Poundland Purchase :-)

Firstly I bought 4 eyeshadows! I have never tried any of the round ones but already got the Glam'eyes one in a different colour so I knew that one was a good purchase!

Rimmel Stir it up 300 Sure...

Rimmel U Rock! 400 Black and Blue (cream shadow)

Rimmel Glam'eyes 440 Enchantment

Swatch
Overall, I love the eyeshadows I bought! I think the pigmentation is great and I love Rimmel packaging! However I am not sure about the creamy one as it feels a bit too greasy!

Next up are lip products:

Rimmel Moisture Renew 180 Sunset

Rimmel Moisture Renew 880 Rose Passion

Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick 070 Airy Fairy

Swatches (left to right - Airy Fairy, Sunset and Rose Passion)

Revlon Creme Gloss 040 Sassy Mauve

Swatched
The lipsticks are my favourite products out of all the things are bought! They are simply brilliant! I have been wearing Airy Fairy every single day! It's the nicest nude colour. I actually went back and bought another one and now I am soo tempted to get lots more! I love sunset too but it has a bit too much shimmer in for day time. And Rose Passion is an essential! The perfect red lipstick and it doesn't make your teeth look yellow! The only thing I was disappointed about was the lipgloss! I did think that it was too good to be true to buy Revlon lipgloss for a pound! The colour is lovely but the consistency is bad and it doesn't smell great either. I think that it might be a bit old becuase when I first used it loads of liquid came out and now the gloss is really thick and hard to get out so it probably separated. Oh well! I was bound to get 1 bad product out of 10!

The last 2 things I purchased were of course nail products. I do wish there were more but I didn't like the colours and the brands weren't great!

Rimmel 60 seconds 850 Hard  Edged

Nice burgundy colour with lots of shimmer

Revlon Gentle Cuticle remover
I do like Rimmel's nail polishes so I am pleased I got one, however I am not over the moon with the colour. It is nice but nothing special! The other thing I bought was the Revlon cuticle remover. I LOVE nails and do them all the time so this is great for tidying up the cuticles. I haven't tested it yet but after I have done so I will probably get lots more since it's such a great deal!

Hope you enjoyed this post! Lots of love!!

Battle of the Drugstores

OMG!!!

So the past two weeks have not been great for my bank account! I have recently found out I got the job that I really wanted so I thought I would spoil myself. However my 1 day of shopping turned into like 2 weeks and STILL I have a list of things that I want to buy! I haven't even started my new job let alone getting paid!

The drugstores are not making it any easier for me! Boots now has a 3 for 2 offer going across all their make up PLUS you get £5 vouchers for no7. I have now bought 4 no7 nail varnishes and 2 lip liners and I am still not done! It just seems like such a good deal! I am loving their blue nail varnishes as well as their cleansers! On top of that, the 3 for 2 offer is great too. I always go in  wanting to buy just one thing but then end up buying 3!!! This time I have been quite good and went for the cheaper products.

I have recently purchased Collection 2000 lasting perfection concealer and I LOVE IT! Therefore I thought I would try out a few more products from this brand. Firstly, I bought the Shimmer Shades in colour Blushalicious. This is a lovely blush consisting of 4 different shades. You can use them separately or mix them all together. It reminds me of Benefit's Sugarbomb.

Collection 2000 Shimmer Shades £4.19

The second thing I bought is the Collection 2000 XXL Volume Sensation mascara. I haven't tried this out yet but I like the look of it.

For my free item I chose Models Own Juicy Jules Nail Varnish. I have recently made an order from their website and this colour was sold out, so I was pleased to see it in store.

Models Own Juicy Jules £5

As I mentioned, I have bought a lot of no7 stuff and planning to buy a lot more so will probably do a separate post for that.

Now onto Superdrug. Most of their moisturisers are now half price. I used this great offer to buy the below:

They are also doing a 3 for 2 offer on Bourjois. But I resisted and didn't buy anything since I have nearly everything! Another thing that caught my eye was the Impulse deodorant with free Barry M lipgloss.

Impulse Tease and free Barry M lipgloss £3
The deodorant is great, it smells lovely and it's the perfect size for a handbag!

Barry M Lipgloss
But the thing I am the most excited about is the lipgloss! It smells HEAVENLY! And the colour is soooo lovely and it's not sticky. It is the perfect lipgloss! It has got a lot of shimmer in it so I will stick to wearing it in the night but it is sooo gorgeous!

Superdrug are also doing a lot of Revlon offers. I picked up one of their nail varnishes in colour 095 Facets of Fuchsia for £4.49 (down from £6.49). This is sooo beautiful! Cannot wait to try it out!

Another thing from Revlon that I am after is the Colorstay  Foundation. This is meant to be amazing and loads of people prefer it to the expensive brands! However I couldn't find my shade anywhere so will have to keep looking! There is currently a £3 discount on it.

Revlon Colorstay foundation £9.49 (normally £12.49)
I hope you enjoyed this post and maybe got inspired to get some of the products above. I just hope I will be able to resist from buying any more...at least till I get my first pay cheque! :-)

Speak to you soon!
